Guest Photos

I thought it appropriate to include the out of towners in our blog, namely those that are unable to attend our quarterly lunches. With that thought in mind, can you tell who this Trojan Swimmer is by the pictures below? You can enlarge by double clicking on the image. The answer is at the bottom:

No, this is not the Trojan Grim Reaper. This swimmer swam for one year at USC (1963-64). Another hint, while in high school, he swam for Don Sonia at the Verdugo Hills Swim Club and was the one responsible for encouraging Frank"Buddy" Bates to become a competitive swimmer. He is also the one and only mountain man that lives in a remote area of Ohio.

His name: Tom Barnet. And you thought I was kidding....

Save the Dates

The 5th Annual Alumni Weekender is scheduled for September 30 (golf tournament), October 1 (Awards and Alumni Recognition Banquet and October 2 (Alumni Relays) followed by the USC vs. Washington football game. It has been suggested that the next quarterly Trojan Swimmer lunch be held on Friday, October 1, either at Billy's at the Beach or on or near SC. So, there will be an announcement sent out in September. In the meantime, keep those dates open.

Another date to keep open will be April 15-16, 2011 for a celebration and dinner at SC on Peter Daland's 90th birthday. So, keep Friday, April 15th, Tax Day, open for another Trojan Swimmer Lunch.

June 14, 2010 Quarterly Lunch at Billy's at the Beach

18 Trojan Swimmers attended the June 14th quarterly lunch. This was the biggest turnout so far and thanks to owner Bill and the Bianci Magnum of wine, the conversation and chatter flowed freely and loosely.
